Scientists now have direct evidence that a planet -- not just failed stars -- can rove the galaxy after a violent expulsion from its orbit.

The ESA/Webb final Picture of the Month for 2025 is an image of a star cluster called Westerlund 2. The image displays stars in their different phases of evolution, including those that have formed protoplanetary disks.
