The Walk for Peace on Saturday will go through the heart of Oconee County and into Oglethorpe County where the monks will stay the night.

More than a month after he was struck in a crash near Houston, Phra Ajarnh Maha Dam Phommasan returned to his home state of Georgia this week and reunited with a group of fellow Buddhist monks trekking in a "Walk for Peace" from Texas to Washington.
